(1)This Act may be called the Sugar-cane Act, 1934.
2[(2) It extends to the whole of India, except the 3[territories which, immediately before the 1st November, 1956, were comprised in Part B States].]
(3)This section shall come into force at once; the remaining sections of this Act shall come into force in any 4[State] on such date as the 5[State] Government may, by notification in the 6[Official Gazette], appoint in that behalf.
